MEHAR has secured a grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation to develop a new artistic resource focused on Anxiety Disorders. This initiative will result in the creation of two short films highlighting three major types of anxiety disorders: Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, and Panic Disorder. The project's goal is to raise awareness about the profound impact of anxiety disorders on individuals' lives and emphasize the importance of treatment in managing symptoms and we strongly believe that films have the transformative power to make it happen.
Our films will feature the stories of fictional characters to depict the real challenges of living with anxiety disorders. The project commenced in June 2024, beginning with the development of film content and the education of the cast and crew about Anxiety Disorders. This preparatory phase ensures that our team is well-informed, sensitive, and mindful of the complexities involved in living with Anxiety Disorders.
The first short film will premiere at Cineplex Cinema in North York, Toronto.
We welcome in-kind support and donations for this esteemed project, which will serve as a valuable resource for understanding the complexity of anxiety disorders.
Our humble request to support this project by attending, volunteering and offering donations/sponsorships to give the maximum
benefits to our community.
